Do I pay separately for each trademark class?

In most jurisdictions, the standard trademark application fee covers one class, and each additional class is charged separately.

That being said, some jurisdictions use stepped pricing, where the second and third classes within a single application may be charged at a lower rate than the first. Beyond a certain number of classes, the per-class fee may increase again. The pricing structure varies by IP office, so it's recommended that you check the fee schedule for each jurisdiction before deciding how many classes to include.
