In the US, the fee for a single three-month extension of time to respond to an office action is $125 per class for electronic filings. Only one extension is available per office action.

In most other jurisdictions, extension requests carry either no government fee or a nominal administrative fee. The specific cost depends on the IP office; your legal representative can confirm the applicable fee before submitting the request.
